***Bruce is a man of very few words. The first wine ever made by IZWAY, and we would like to think the wine still does the talking.***
The 2019 Bruce is dark and moody and perfectly represents the harvest conditions. Herbal and leafy notes combine with rosemary roasted lamb and whole bunch fermentation. The brackish palate is complex and intriguing; salted dark chocolate and liquorice emerges as the wine opens up.
A dark and powerful wine that is pure Barossa.
Cellaring: The 2020 Bruce will cellar for 8-12 years.
In 2003 a single barrel called Bruce, held our entire first vintage. Named after Kathryn’s late father, Bruce is the most iconic and personally significant wine that we produce.
An unflinching return to the traditional Barossa Valley Bruce vineyards, the bold, plush palate, and dark, brooding aromatics of the 2018 Bruce are a definitive throw-back to the early releases of this wine. Brash and unapologetically Barossan, it treads a fine line between brawn and elegance.
Dark chocolate, liquorice, coffee and violets leap from the glass while on the palate blackberries, mint chocolate brownies and a hint of turkish delight create a decadent drink.
This Bruce is one for the cellar, with ideal drinking from 2025 to 2030. Decanting will reward the impatient.

At IZWAY wines, our task is to gently guide our wines to bottle so they are an accurate reflection of both the site on which they were grown and the prevailing conditions throughout the growing season.
Our job is made easier through access to the amazing old-vines and abundant sunshine that makes the Barossa Valley so famous across the globe. Wines of purity, energy and vitality that speak clearly of the region we call home.
Our wine making is simple and minimalistic, based on old world, hands on techniques. We limit our acid additions as much as possible, rarely use nutrient, never use tannin or any other additions and we never fine or filter our wines.
We use all old oak (apart from 2 barrels a year) and age some of our wine in large oak Fudre (2.4kL). We also use some whole bunch winemaking with Grenache and Mataro and only destem (we don't crush) our Shiraz.
The Grassl Vigneron 1855 Glass pays homage to the Exposition Universelle de Paris. This shape is designed for reds and whites of great complexity, concentration and body. The design of the bowl provides the wine with the space it needs to evolve.
